I\u2019ve been a professional musician since I graduated from college and then dropped out of nursing school.\u00a0\u00a0Well you have to begin somewhere\u00a0![\"smiley](\"http:\/\/calirose.com\/wackyworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/smileyface4.jpeg\")
\u00a0and I started in piano bars.\u00a0\u00a0From dingy dumps to top-of-the food chain and everything in-between.\u00a0There is no better place to hone your craft, night after night.\u00a0\u00a0I sharpened my skills as a singer, musician and entertainer.\u00a0\u00a0I accompanied hundreds of singers and learned to whip up an arrangement, on the spot.\u00a0\u00a0I also learned how important it is to establish an atmosphere where the audience feels welcome and part of the show.<\/p>\n
I bring the sum total of my experiences to the art of teaching.\u00a0\u00a0The piano is my primary instrument (with guitar and banjo added to the mix).\u00a0\u00a0I\u00a0think<\/i>\u00a0like a keyboard player and translate that to the ukulele.\u00a0\u00a0Melody, the fingerprint of a song, harmony (chords) and rhythmic intensity are cornerstones of my approach.\u00a0\u00a0I especially want others to experience the joy of being a musician.<\/p>\n
