How to hold your uke, tuning, chords, strums,\u00a0songs, how to create a \u201cgroove\u201d and more. You will be playing your ukulele and\u00a0singing along the first day! This workshop is about making music and having fun in a\u00a0warm and supportive atmosphere. No previous musical experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome, 16 years old and\u00a0above.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">What you&#8217;ll need<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Short fingernails on your left hand.<\/li>\n<li>A ukulele with standard G-C-E-A tuning. Your instrument must be in playable condition, which means the tuning pegs work (they don\u2019t slip) and the strings are\u00a0relatively new. Ukes come in three sizes: soprano, concert &amp; tenor. I recommend the\u00a0larger sizes, concert and tenor, because they are easier to play. Try a few ukes at\u00a0Boulevard Music and find one that feels right to you.<\/li>\n<li>A digital tuner, preferably one that is calibrated for ukulele tuning and clips onto\u00a0the ukulele headstock. Check out the Kala KC02 Clip-On Tuner and others on the\u00a0market.<\/li>\n<li>A great big smile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Later on, please purchase:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThe Daily Ukulele, 365 Songs for Better Living\u201d compiled by Jim and Liz Beloff and published by Hal Leonard.
