There are millions of stories swirling around us — tales of whoo-hoo! Tales of OMG-you-have-got-to-be-kidding…
All happening. At the same time. In this crazy world. Like feeling dumb-struck grateful for having two opposable thumbs. Or waking up at three o’clock in the morning with another blast of existential angst. The utter joy when a Gen Z cashier with tattoos, piercings and a beautific smile, bags my groceries at Trader Joe’s. That quick jolt of numbing cold when I get another notification on my phone from… well… the bad news bears.
Stories about remembering — that good health is temporary. So is every one. Every thing. Every moment. Tales about holding on…for dear life. Letting go… for dear life. With a sorta-open heart and kinda-unclenched hands. Thank you for sharing your personal bandwidth and precious time with me and may you find yourself in these stories too.
Please leave your comments because this story-telling business goes both ways. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Don’t we love our “projects”? I have dozens of “dem things to do” in every corner of our condo tree house. My desk looks like an organized zone of chaos. On the piano, there are piles of songs to learn or write or arrange. The ukuleles sit sentry in every…
Most of us have something that is, shall we say, a little off the bell curve. It’s Fiesta La Ballona time in Culver City, California and Sunday morning, forty-five of The CC Strummers arrive early for our “really big show.” We bring our music stands and ukuleles, husbands, wives, friends…
So here is my challenge… How do I describe a “local” ukulele show so it feels like it’s happening in your neighborhood too? Well, this is how I see it. We all need a little bolus of joy now and then. Maybe everyday. A second-wind that lifts us over the…
I’ve been telling The CC Strummers, my ukulele group in Culver City, all about the big “Ukulele Flash Mob.” It’s a-comin’. And we’re a-goin’. What’s a flash mob?” One senior asks. “Well…. You wear a trench coat and when they count 1-2-3-4, you open your coat and flash your….…ukulele.” That…
Look at dem feets! You just have to SMILE. Huh… Well that is what my new ukulele CD is all about. A breath of fresh air in our busy, cuckoo lives. Jim Beloff calls it “a perfect summer disk.” And I vote for year-around-summer! Another happy customer writes: “Here is a Monday morning…
