“Cali, it is so fine.  The arrangements, the mixing, the production level, not to mention your gorgeous vocal sound and the ukulele playing.  Just excellent.  All the work you did month after month — it’s all there.  What I like more is that you deliver what you promised.  All the songs make one smile; they tickle and tease.  This is what you wanted to do.  Make us smile.”

— Victor B.

May I say that I enjoy your style, the way you think and write, do music, interact with others, smile, and just move through the world, and, well, especially smile!

You make your students happy they’re in your classes. You are an inspirational teacher. I often describe you as challenging us and balancing the challenges with praise for strums well done. A good formula!

“I just wanted to write how much I enjoy “Are You Havin’ Any Fun.” I hope this doesn’t sound like an odd type of compliment, but it is of the highest order. If my mom were to sing to me it should be in your voice. And one more compliment, the Hawaiian songs you did – they are done as if you were a local.”

— David B.

You have opened up a wonderful new world to me. I enjoy every minute I spend in class and with you.

Note:  This album was nominated for Best Adult Contemporary Album in the 2009 Hawaii Music Awards. It didn’t win and some folks were a little upset about that, like Ric Douglas, who wrote me the message below…

Brava! The documentary really touched me, especially, since I and my “girlfriends” are at the end of our 7th decade and will be moving into our 8th next year. We aren’t able to get together as we once did because of transportation and physical issues. But I know we all can remember the music and songs of our youth and those memories bring forth a lot of good feelings. Bless you and your compadres for bringing joy to our generation‼️

you are an inspiration. so lucky to be learnin’ from the best.

“Well I said I L O V E  your website and I do and I also applaud your one-woman-do-it-all approach, going to the care homes and connecting with your CDs and upbeat attitude, so very important, as you said, in these challenging of all times.  Looking forward to your CD receipt and connecting more as I’m always drawn to the under-dogs of this world, those who exhibit grit.”
